As of May 2021, we are offering a limited number of in-person classes at our Center. See the letter from the Board below.
May 6, 2021
As New York City begins to ease Covid restrictions on indoor gatherings, the Board of Directors has decided to re-open the Center for a small number of classes. We will continue to offer most classes on Zoom. Our hope is that the combination of in-person and virtual classes will allow all of our students to continue to attend a class that fits their schedules and needs.
We will be proceeding with the in-person classes cautiously and gradually, being mindful of the necessity to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all students. Indoor classes are open only to those members who have been fully vaccinated, plus waited the requisite time to attain full immunity. Wearing masks is mandatory. It is also expected that students maintain social distancing while at the Center.
This past year has been a very challenging time for all of us. As we adjusted to the new class format on Zoom and discovered its strengths and limitations, students have been understanding, flexible and supportive. We are grateful that we have managed to survive as a community and that our Center will continue being a home for the Society for Nanlaoshu.
With much appreciation,
The Board of Directors
